Dr Brown, M.D., Ph.D. is Professor and Chairman Emeritus of the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. He has over 40 years experience caring for patients with back and neck pain and his PhD thesis and all of his research devoted to the cause, prevention, and cure of spinal disorders. He is a founding member of the International Society for the Study of Lumbar Spine and is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, American Orthopaedic Association, Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons, the Cervical Spine Research Society, Medical Advisory Board of PinnacleCare, and the North America Spine Society. He serves as a Consultant Reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery , is on the Board of Associate Editors of Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, is on the Associate Editorial Board of Spine, and the Editorial Board of the Journal of Spinal Disorders and Techniques.
He is the author of Conquer Back and Neck Pain: Walk it Off that was a finalist in the National Best Book Awards in the health, exercise and fitness category and also received the 2008 American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award for first place in the “consumer health” category.
Dr Phillip Cheras received his PhD from the University of Queensland in Australia in 1993 and has been an Adjunct Associate Professor with NatMed Research at Southern Cross University in Australia since 2007. He has received international attention for his doctoral research which lead him to propose a new paradigm for the causation of osteoarthritis. He has published his “Vascular Concept of Osteoarthritis Causation” and presented it at numerous international conferences and symposia. In 2001 he was a core member of the team that established the Australian Centre for Complementary Medical Education and Research (ACCMER), a joint venture of the University of Queensland and Southern Cross University, and became the foundation Deputy Director.
Dr Cheras has been the Principal or Co-investigator of clinical trials in complementary medicine valued in excess of $5 million. He has fostered links between the complementary medicine industry, academia, government, and entrepreneurial investors.
Dr Cheras reviews for a wide range of journals and organizations including the Cancer Council of Australia. In 2007, he was appointed as Interim Executive Officer for the newly created national Institute of Complementary Medicine (NICM) with the University of Western Sydney. He is a consultant to the Complementary and Alternative Industry and has co-authored both national and international reviews.
Dr Eugene Lipov, M.D. is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. He graduated from Northwestern Medical School in 1984 and attended Rush St Luke’s Medical Center to pursue advanced training in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. He has been on the academic faculty at Rush St Luke’s for more than 5 years.
Dr Lipov is currently the Director of Research, Northwest Community Hospital, and Medical Director, Advanced Pain Center. He has conducted numerous media interviews about his innovative treatment of hot flashes and pain management. He was an instructor for ISIS (International Spine Injection Society) and is a member of ISIS and NASS (North America Spine Society).

Dr Jacob Teitelbaum (left) and Dr David Russell were interviewed by Dr Carl O. Helvie on the Holistic Health Show last night. Dr Teitelbaum, a Board Certified Internist and Medical Director of a National Chain of Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers (www.fibroandfatigue.com)suffered from and overcome these diseases. My second guest, Dr Davids Russell, holds a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and is competing another Doctorate of Divinity and is the Founder and Director of the non-profit organization Caritas Traditionalis whose goal is to create a self-sustainable medical presence in economically depressed communities. Dr Carl O Helvie will interview Dr Ross Hauser (left) and Dr Thomas Lobe on the Holistic Health Show on Saturday. Dr Hauser received his M.D. from the University of Illinois, Chicago, completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Loyola-Hines VA-Marianjoy Hospitals, and received his baccalaureate degree at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaigne. He is currently the Medical Director, CEO, and Co-founder of the physician run, comprehensive natural medicine clinic, Caring Medicine and Rehabilitation Services in Oak Park, Illinois.
Dr Hauser is most well know for his expertise in the technique of Prolotherapy, a medical procedure that stimulates the body to repair painful, injured areas. He trained under Dr Gustav Hemwall who is the grandfather of this procedure. As a result of his expertise and books on Prolotherapy Dr Hauser sees patients from all over the USA and abroad.
Dr Hauser is a consultant for Beulah Land Nutritionals, a comprehensive nutriceuticals store and with his wife developed some of the products for optimal health.
Dr Hauser and his wife co-authored the national best seller Proto Your Pain Away! Curing Chronic Pain with Prolotherapy. along with a four-book topical mini series of Prolotherapy books. They also wrote the Anthology of Prolotherapy- Prolo Your Sports Injuries Away! Curing Sports Injuries and Enhancing Athletic Performance with Prolotherapy a 900 page sports book that discusses the use of Prolotherapy for sports injuries and other topics including nutrition, surgery, x-rays, cortisone shots, MRI’s, and other aspects of sports medicine.
They also coauthored Treating Cancer with Insulin Potentiation Therapy and more recently Prolotherapy: An Alternative to Knee surgery.

Dr Thomas Lobe, M.D., FAC’s, FAAP, is Founder and Medical Director of Beneveda Medical Group in Beverly Hills, California. He obtained his baccalaureate degree at George Washington U, and during his medical education studied with leading physicians at Johns Hopkins University and Harvard University. He also studied with former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop, M.D. and graduated from medical school cum laude and with honors in pediatrics. After medical school he trained at Ohio State University Hospital in general surgery and the Children’s Hospital in pediatric surgery.
He became Chief of Pediatric Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston following his residency and made national news as being the first to successfully separate a particularly difficult variety of Siamese twins and lead the nation in complex reconstruction of the airway.
He was recruited to the University of Tennessee in Memphis and LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center to start the first pediatric surgery training program in the south. There he lead the world in the development of laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgery in children. He also wrote the first textbook on the subject and pioneered many novel techniques. In addition, he established the first medical journal devoted to advanced surgical techniques in children and currently remains the editor. While in Tennessee he began his television career and remains the host and moderator of What’s Up Doc? a medical talk show on GHS-TV in Germantown, Tennessee.
Dr Lobe continued an interest in alternative and complementary Medicine throughout his career and convinced the Dean of the Medical School in Tennessee to begin a program of instruction for medical students. He remained in charge of that program for over a decade before leaving the area for a new challenge at
Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. There he was recruited to pioneer advances in minimally invasive surgery and with his associates he was the first to develop an advanced technique to perform major head and neck surgery such as thyroidectomy and parathyroidectomy. Through a small incision in the armpit, the procedure leaves the patient with no visible, unsightly scar and no pain.
To strengthen his interest in alternative and complementary medicine Dr Lobe obtained an additional degree in naturopathic medicine and passed his boards in both medical hypnosis and medical acupuncture. He has traveled extensively and studies with leaders in this field of practice.
Dr Lobe has written more than 200 books, book chapters, and peer reviewed articles and has lectured world-wide on nearly every continent. He also found time to study law and completed an additional degree-Physician’s Executive Masters in Business Administration at the University of Tennessee.
He is a board member and founding advisor to Neatstitch, LLC, a laparoscopic instrument company based in Israel and now in the United States, and also co-founder for Visual Medical Solutions, LLC, the producers of BodyViz, a new medical imaging tool for surgical planning and medical education that makes use of virtual reality engineering to improve patient care.
Most recently, Dr Lobe followed his dream of putting together the most advanced medical practice in existence, focusing on the new medical specialty called energy medicine. Guests interviewed by Dr Carl O Helvie, host, Holistic Health Show on BBS Radio (www.bbsradio.com) Station 3 on Saturday were Dr Geronimo Rubio (left), Dr Adam Perlman (right), and Ms Caroline Gross.
Dr Rubio is Medical Director of the Rubio Cancer Center and his biography was presented earlier. More information is available at www.rubiocancercenter.com Dr Rubio discusses his use of immunotherapy and other alternative therapies in successfully treating various types of cancer.
Dr Perlman is Director of Integrative Medicine at St Barnabas Health Care System and Medical Director of the Carol and Morton Siegler Center for Integrative Medicine in Livingston, New Jersey. His biography was presented previously. He discusses the integrated approach to cancer treatment that is used at St Barnabas and that is a model of care combining traditional and altenative therapies.
Ms Carolyn Gross was diagnoses with stage 3 breast cancer in 2003 and was treated successfully by Dr Rubio with immunotherapy and alternative therapies. Her biography was presented earlier and she will talk about her treatments.

My other guests on this Saturday’s show on BBS Radio (www.bbsradio.com) are Dr Adam Perlman, and Ms Caroline Gross. Both were previously on this cancer series.
Dr Perlman received his Medical Degree (M.D.) and a Masters of Public Health (MPH) from Boston University. He is currently Director of Integrative Medicine for the St Barnabas Health Care system and Medical Director for the Carol and Morton Siegler Center for Integrative Medicine in Livingston, New Jersey where he developed and oversees the Complementary and Alternative Programs. In 2002 he became the Executive Director of the Institute of Complementary and Alternative Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where he is an Assistant Professor. In 2004 he was named the Endowed Professor of Complementary and Alternative Medicine at this University and in 2000 he was recommended by his peer for the Excellence in Caring Award at St Barnabas. He will discuss his model of cancer care that includes a combination of traditional and alternative complementary cancer care.

On Saturday, Dr Carl O Helvie interviewed Dr Francisco Contreras and Dr Arlene Donar on the Holistic Health Show on BBS Radio.
Dr Contreras, M.D. is Director, President and Chairman of the Oasis of Hope and oversees cancer treatment for 400 patients annually. Since the hospital opened over 100,000 patients have been treated. He discusses the holistic complementary treatments offered and the demonstrated higher success rates in his hospital over those experienced in other hospitals. Dr Arlene Donar is a Naturopathic Physician practicing on 5th Avenue in New York City. My first guest on the Holistic Health Show on BBS Radio (www.bbsradio.com) Station 3 last night was Dr Robert Eslinger of the Reno Integrative Medical Center. He has been in clinical practice for 27 years and combines traditional and complementary treatments for cancer patients. Treatments discussed included Nutritional Guidance, German New Medicine, Vitamin-Mineral Infusions, Immune Enhancement, Chelation Therapy, Oxidation Therapy and Homeopathy among others. On this show I also discussed my alternative treatments for lung cancer when I was given 6 months to live—33 years ago. Some of the interventions discussed were laetrile, a special diet, supplements, exercise, prayer, meditation, visualization, affirmations, emotional support, and faith. I am a registered nurse with two masters in public health nursing (U of California) and public health (Johns Hopkins U), and a doctorate in public health (Johns Hopkins U). I have continued a holistic approach to life and now at age 77 I am free of chronic illnesses and prescribed medications (average for age 75 is 3 chronic illnesses and 5 prescribed medications). My goal for this show is that you have the information so that you can achieve results similar to my own so that you can enjoy life without the pain, expenses, and inconveniences that often go along with chronic illnesses and prescribed medications. . Dr Robert Eslinger will be the first guest to be interviewed on the Holistic health Show on August 1 on BBS Radio (www.bbsradio.com) Station 3 at 7 p.m. PST or 10 p.m. EST. He has been in clinical practice for 27 years and is certified in family practice, osteopathic manipulation, and homeopathy. He also holds certification in Insulin Potential Therapy. On Saturday, July 18, I interviewed 5 cancer survivors pictured from left to right–Aurea McGarry, Linda Wilson, Regina Leeds, Les Thiele, and Lori Kuban .
Aurea is a 9 year Non Hodskins Lymphoma survivor who won the Mrs. U.S. Beauty of Georgia Contest in 2003 and the title of Most Inspirational Contestant. She is the creator, producer and host of the television show Live Your Legacy with Aurea McGarry. Earlier she worked on the soap opera Edge of Night. Linda had a tumor of the kidney and used alternative interventions. She and her husband have owned a rare and used book business for 25 years. She has degrees in English Literature, and Respiratory Therapy, and a Masters in Theology. She is an ordained Episcopal Minister but currently works with the Catholic Apolistic Church.
