My guest for Saturday is John Lucas who has been on a healing journey for over 30 years that has taken him coast to coast and places in between. On the journey he has met and learned from some of the most fascinating and enlightening chiropractors, doctors of osteopathic medicine, homeopaths, physicists and therapists. On his quest to find answers to his own life challenges he found answers for himself but also discovered and created a way to accurately test and treat the needs by distance of anyone, anywhere in the world. His biography says his work instantly changes the life of anyone he works with by accessing and eliminating the cause of physical, emotional of issues of the mind problems of virtually any kind. Dr Koenig, M.D., MHSc is the second lead interview for this series (Dr Bernie Siegel was interviewed for the last show) . Dr Koenig completed his undergraduate education at Stanford University, his medical training at the University of California at San Francisco and his geriatric medicine, psychiatry, and biostatistics training at Duke University. His research on religion, health and ethical issues in medicine has been featured on over 50 national and international TV news programs (including the Today Show, ABC’s World News Tonight, and several times on Good Morning America), over 100 national or international radio programs (including multiple NPR and BBC interviews), and hundreds of national and international newspapers and magazines (including cover stories for Reader’s Digest, Parade Magazine, and Newsweek) Dr Koenig has given testimony before the U.S. Senate (September, 1998) and the U.S. House of Representatives (September 2008) concerning the effects of religious involvement on public health. Ms Mary McManus is a poet, fund raiser, former award winning social worker at the Department of Veterans Affairs, 2009 Boston Marathon Finisher, inspirational speaker, and an award winner in her “new life” discovered a whole new world was waiting to unfold before her after the life altering diagnosis of post polio syndrome in December 2006.
Mary was diagnosed with paralytic polio at age 5 and overcome the childhood challenges of polio, an abusive alcoholic father and a drug addicted mother by immersing herself in her academic career. She was high school valedictorian and later received a BS in Communications from Boston University and a Masters of Social Work from Boston College where she was induced into the Jesuit Honor Society Alpha Sigma Nu.
While working at Veterans Affairs, Mary received a Certificate of Appreciation Award from the Blind Veterans Association, was Social Worker of the Year, and employee of the month but was forced to leave in 2007 because of a diagnosis of post-polio syndrome.Although she had a vision of God while paralyzed and knew that she would have the ability to overcome and be able to walk again she was told to quit her position with the VA after 20 years as a social worker. Thereafter, in February 2007 God spoke to Mary through poetry and inspirational poetry began pouring out. As she continued to visualize healing and connecting with God she began experiencing healing of mind, body and spirit. With intensive rehabilitation, lifestyle changes and harnessing her faith through prayer, writing poetry, meditation, visualization, and seeking out healers including an energy healer, a nurse healer on line and working with Dr Bernie Siegel she went on to run the 2009 Boston Marathon and raise $10,535 for Spaulding Rehab Hospital. She is now the author of two books on inspirational poetry including New World Greetings: Inspirational Poetry and Musing for a New World
published in December, 2007 and Set Sail for a New World: Healing a Life Through the Gift of Poetry (2010) and donates 20% of the proceeds to Ms. Wheelchair Massachusetts Program. Her dream is to see a polio free world in her lifetime.
Mary has been a guest at the Jordan Rich show on WBZ in Boston and was selected by Boston’s # 1 FM station Magic 106.7 as their Exceptional Woman. She was also a finalist for Brookline Woman of the Year 2010 and honored at their award ceremony Women Who Inspire Us. Dr Hauser received his M.D. from the University of Illinois, Chicago, completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Loyola-Hines VA-Marianjoy Hospitals, and received his baccalaureate degree at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaigne. Dr Hauser is most well know for his expertise in the technique of Prolotherapy, a medical procedure that stimulates the body to repair painful, injured areas. He trained under Dr Gustav Hemwall who is the grandfather of this procedure. As a result of his expertise and books on Prolotherapy Dr Hauser sees patients from all over the USA and abroad.

Dr Thomas Lobe, M.D., FAC’s, FAAP, is Founder and Medical Director of Beneveda Medical Group in Beverly Hills, California. He obtained his baccalaureate degree at George Washington U, and during his medical education studied with leading physicians at Johns Hopkins University and Harvard University. He also studied with former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop, M.D. and graduated from medical school cum laude and with honors in pediatrics. After medical school he trained at Ohio State University Hospital in general surgery and the Children’s Hospital in pediatric surgery.
He became Chief of Pediatric Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston following his residency and made national news as being the first to successfully separate a particularly difficult variety of Siamese twins and lead the nation in complex reconstruction of the airway.
He was recruited to the University of Tennessee in Memphis and LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center to start the first pediatric surgery training program in the south. There he lead the world in the development of laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgery in children. He also wrote the first textbook on the subject and pioneered many novel techniques. In addition, he established the first medical journal devoted to advanced surgical techniques in children and currently remains the editor. While in Tennessee he began his television career and remains the host and moderator of What’s Up Doc? a medical talk show on GHS-TV in Germantown, Tennessee.
Dr Lobe continued an interest in alternative and complementary Medicine throughout his career and convinced the Dean of the Medical School in Tennessee to begin a program of instruction for medical students. He remained in charge of that program for over a decade before leaving the area for a new challenge at
Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. There he was recruited to pioneer advances in minimally invasive surgery and with his associates he was the first to develop an advanced technique to perform major head and neck surgery such as thyroidectomy and parathyroidectomy. Through a small incision in the armpit, the procedure leaves the patient with no visible, unsightly scar and no pain.
To strengthen his interest in alternative and complementary medicine Dr Lobe obtained an additional degree in naturopathic medicine and passed his boards in both medical hypnosis and medical acupuncture. He has traveled extensively and studies with leaders in this field of practice.
Dr Lobe has written more than 200 books, book chapters, and peer reviewed articles and has lectured world-wide on nearly every continent. He also found time to study law and completed an additional degree-Physician’s Executive Masters in Business Administration at the University of Tennessee.
