Dr Carlos Garcia/Utopia Wellness Cancer Treatment

Sunday, March 26th, 2017

Dr Carlos Garcia

Utopia Wellness is a leading-edge medical center that offers integrative, holistic, patient-focused medical treatments. Under the direction of Carlos M. Garcia, M.D., programs designed for anyone who wants to enjoy optimal health are offered: Whether suffering from a chronic illness or simply wanting to prevent disease. Our extensive menu of wellness programs complement each other by addressing all issues related to well-being.

Dr. Carlos M. Garcia M.D. received his formal medical training at the University of Massachusetts, Medical School followed by an internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Anesthesia, both at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA.

After moving to the Tampa Bay area in 1984, he began his practice as an Anesthesiologist at Bayfront Medical Center, Edward White Hospital, and Physicians’ Community Hospital.

Over his years working in hospitals, he came to realize that traditional medicine was driven more by the profits of pharmaceutical companies and hospitals than it was on providing the patient with the best possible care. So in 1996, Dr. Garcia redirected his medical focus to natural alternative health care including holistic medicine, integrative cancer treatments, Chelation therapy, bio-identical hormone replacement, IV vitamins and antioxidants, and weight loss. In all of these areas, he uses non-harmful and natural alternatives to conventional treatments. His passion to help others achieve optimal health through natural medicine led him to found Utopia Wellness, where he incorporates the best that medicine has to offer, traditional and alternative.

Dr. Garcia’s focus over the past several years has been on helping people suffering from cancer and its related diseases. His approach is holistic in that he addresses not only the tumor or cancer but also on the whole person and the cause of the cancer. To be truly cancer free for life, you must identify and eliminate the underlying cause of the disease.  In 2012, Dr. Garcia published his book Cancer is a Symptom: The Real Cause Revealed where he addresses the prospect that cancer is merely a symptom and unless you heal the underlying cause, you will never be truly cancer free.He also co authored Cancer Free with Bill Henderson.

Dr. Garcia is a member of ACAM (American College for the Advancement of Medicine), ICIM (International College of Integrative Medicine), and the American Holistic Health Association.  Additionally, Dr. Garcia holds certifications in Chelation Therapy from the American Board of Chelation Therapy, and has given numerous lectures on various health topics to professionals, medical students and the public, has had a radio talk show, and has been interviewed for several health related television news topics.

My Guest, Dr Leigh Erin Connealy. M.D. will discuss her new book: The Cancer Revolution A Groundbreaking Program to Reverse and Prevent Cancer

Every year, over 1.5 million people in the US are diagnosed with cancer. Nearly everyone has been touched by this disease—be it their own diagnosis or that of a family member or friend. In The Cancer Revolution: A Groundbreaking Program to Reverse and Prevent Cancer, Dr. Leigh Erin Connealy shares integrative medicine techniques, lifestyle approaches, and wellness plans for cancer patients.

Dr. Connealy suggests that it’s not enough to undergo traditional treatments alone. Drawing upon the homeopathic, nutritional, bioenergetics, regenerative, and antiaging disciplines, The Cancer Revolution offers six “Revolutionary Cancer Strategies” to provide better management of cancer, including:

Let  Food Be Your Medicine ·       Get Moving to Get Well
Remove Toxins to Boost Your Health ·       Reduce Stress and Reclaim Your Life
·       Harness the Power of Supplements ·       Strengthen Your Immune System with Sleep

By detoxifying, protecting, and providing nutrients to our bodies, Dr. Connealy suggests that we can all lead longer, higher quality lives—even when faced with this formidable disease. She also highlights how these practices can reduce your risk of getting cancer in the first place.

Leigh Erin Connealy, MD, attended the University of Texas School of Public Health and graduated from the University of Health Sciences Chicago Medical School. Cheryl Boyles  tells us her story below. In June 2000 I was 33 years old, working as a wildlife biologist in Oregon, married to a wonderful husband for 10 years, and the mother of two amazing sons that were 1 and 3 years old.  I was loving life; then overnight my life changed.  I began having headaches that felt like my skull was going to explode.  An MRI showed my brain was hemorrhaging.  I went into surgery and an acorn sized grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) brain tumor was removed.  I was told I had less than a year to live.I quit my job, and focused on being a mother and fighting brain cancer.  I went through radiation, but chose not to take chemotherapy.  The chemo would only add 3 months to my life, but quality of life would be miserable.

I decided to take more of a natural “alternative” approach, trying to boost my own immune system.  My good cells outnumbered my bad cancer cells! I started eating organic, following a low carbohydrate diet, exercising, simplifying life and nursing a positive attitude, taking acupuncture, many supplements, cannabis, some “off label” prescriptions (like Metformin), and most of all leaning on God for strength which feeds me with hope.

Over the 16 years fighting the terminal brain cancer, I’ve unfortunately was hit with six recurrences. The fact that I have survived is unbelievable.  My doctors even say so.  Most people with the GBM die with their first recurrence, which usually happens within the first few years.  To fight my recurrences, I mostly focused on my alternative actions, but also continued with some of the standard treatments.  I’ve been through six brain craniotomies, 6 week of conformation radiation, over 3 ½ years on the milder chemo called Temodar, and also what is called Gamma Knife radiation.

Taking this approach of combining many alternative and standard treatments, trying to hit the cancer from many angels, has become known at a “cocktail” approach.  It seems to be working for me, not that I’m cured, but I’m still alive and loving life.  Over the sixteen years I’ve had over 100 MRIs, and it’s great to say that my last MRI was clear, no seen GBM.I have become known in the “brain tumor world” as a long term survivor.  Patients and caregivers from around the USA and around the world contact me wanting to know “How do you do it?”  So I’ve put together a web page www.cherylbroyles-gbm.com, wrote a book called Life’s Mountains, and made some videos hoping to reach out and encourage others.

Now my husband and I have been married 26 years, growing stronger together.  My two boys are now 17 and 20 years old, both wanting to become wildlife biologists like mom and dad.   And over the years I’ve been blessed with many things.  Seeing life anew, learning to be content regardless of circumstances, enduring through the challenges, and living life in the moment.

Inflammation-Dr David Seaman and Cellular Expansion-Patti McNulty

Sunday, February 12th, 2017

DrDSeaman

My next show on Saturday at 12 noon PST will include the following guests.

Dr. David Seaman was the first person to author a scientific paper that specifically hypothesized that diets can be pro-inflammatory or anti-inflammatory. Since that paper was published in 2002, thousands of papers and numerous books have been published on the topic of diet and inflammation, which is now accepted as mainstream.

Dr. Seaman is a Professor of Clinical Sciences in the Chiropractic Medicine program at National University of Health Sciences in Pinellas Park, Fl. He has a BS from Rutgers University in 1982; a Doctor of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College in 1986; and a MS in Bio/nutrition from the University of Bridgeport in 1991

While in clinical practice in the late 1980’s, he became aware of the developing research that linked nutrition to the inflammatory process and noticed that appropriate dietary changes could significantly improve various musculoskeletal and visceral conditions. Based on this experience, he began to focus on nutritional approaches for inflammation/pain control and has followed the related scientific literature ever since. This led to the publication of the first book on nutrition for pain and inflammation, which was followed by many articles and book chapters devoted to this topic. His educational efforts resulted in being awarded the 2006 Academician of the Year by the American Chiropractic Association.

P McNulty

Patti McNulty began her education with four years of intensive training in a combined mental health/addictions and family counseling program. Subsequently, she spent twelve years providing both inpatient and outpatient addiction services to a range of psychiatric hospitals. She was then the primary Employee Assistance Program counselor for JFK and LaGuardia Airports in New York, where employees could receive counseling and addictions treatment on-site.

In 1996, she was awarded a New York State citation for her work with the survivors and employees involved in the Flight 800 plane crash that same year. Her work experience pulled her in the direction of not only further addictions treatment work, but also in trauma work in addicted populations.

In 2005, she became a holistic studies practitioner, completed two graduate programs at the School of Vanati in Pittsburgh, and is presently involved in the extension graduate program.

Patti started working at Serenity Acres Treatment Center in January of 2013, as a licensed Certified Associate Counselor for Alcohol and Drugs (CAC-AD), and provides addictions counseling, family education, and holistic therapy services to her clients. She also runs her own business, Healing Branches, in Severna Park, Md. At Healing Branches, Patti practices Cellular Expansion and Healing Energy Medicine—a form of hands on bodywork that heals through the cells for optimal health and wellness.

a-kerten

Alex Kerten says his life has been framed by the shadows of two cataclysmic events: the Holocaust and the subsequent creation in 1948 of the State of Israel. His parents arrived in what was then called Palestine at the tail end of World War II, having survived the Holocaust taking place in Europe. They met in a refugee camp, one of many that had been set up for the streams of immigrants pouring in after the war, and it was there that he was born in 1945.

The camps were filled with fractured souls who had suffered the horrors of Nazi atrocities and been left plagued by trauma from the past. For many of the children of these survivors like him, that trauma was passed on and became part of their own psychological makeup. As a teenager, he discovered music as an outlet to lighten the heaviness that he felt as a child and the recurring dreams and nightmares he kept having about the Holocaust. I He threw himself  into his new passion and, by the age of 16, he was playing the guitar in a house band that appeared on the radio, performed with leading Israeli artists, and accompanied visiting artists to Israel like Harry Belafonte, Jacques Brel, Rita Pavone, and Marlene Dietrich.

At 18, like every Israeli teenager, Alex was inducted into the Israel Defense Forces where he was first exposed to — and attracted by — martial arts (MA). After completing his mandatory service, he decided to pursue the study of martial arts in Japan and, later, when he returned to Israel, he continued the regimen under Grand Master Gad Skornic. After years of study, in which he also gained valuable real-life experiences, he graduated with seven black belts — four in Kenpo Jitsu, one in Ninjitsu, and two in Hashita.

Over the following decades, while pursuing various business pursuits, he continued to focus on the connection between mind and body and began to study structuring and healing movements at the Dr. Aryeh Kalev center, where he worked and taught arts of healing movements for about 5 years. At the same time he studied psychophysical integration (or mind/body integration) at the Trager Institute, an approach developed by Dr. Milton Trager. Using that knowledge, and structuring movements in martial arts (Tai Jitsu) and effects of music on body-language, body forms, feelings, movement and rhythm he began to work with Parkinson’s patients and established the Gyro-Kinetics method (Gyro=balanced / Kinetics= body movements) which is a preventive rehabilitation program in P.D. The method combines movement, touch, and music to restore the physiological balanced state on physical, mental and emotional levels and aims to improve quality of life by preventing and reducing the multiple clinical disabilities. It has been successfully used in conditions such as: movement disorders, musculoskeletal, vascular, respiratory and digestive disorders.

He then worked for a couple of years  at the Reuth Hospital in Tel Aviv, where with Dr. Marietta Anka he built a pilot study which lasted for three months and consisted of weekly sessions of Gyro-Kinetics (G.K) on 11 P.D patients. Results : All patients finished very satisfied and G.K had a significant immediate post session but also a long standing improving effect on motor parameters.

At the year 2004 he and Dr. Anka participated at the 8th. International Congress of P.D and Movement disorders , which took place in Rome Italy. Conclusion was: G.K seems to be effective on general motor and mood dysfunction in P.D. It can also improve the respiratory and gastrointestinal disturbances and the patients awareness of his disease. Later Alex taught at the Maccabi Health Institute, part of Maccabi health care services in Israel.

He mentioned an incidenthe had about 30 years ago during a Martial arts training. He was choked by one of the instructors. He wouldn’t let go of his grip and Alex’s hand paralyzed, He attempted to get him to stop by looking at him in the eyes. Instead, he interpreted the stare as a challenge and continued the choke hold.

All of the old Holocaust nightmares of torture and humiliation suffered by my family at the hands of Nazis rushed back to Alex — and he fainted. That traumatic incident haunted him and developed into a chronic dreams and nightmares that affected his life for many years. He looked for help by going to various specialists in the medical field, but nobody provided a remedy. So he decided that he was going to have to help himself. He began to investigate the physiology of behavior — brain waves and the way the autonomic nervous system (ANS) in our body affects a person’s anatomy, where we live our traumas over and over again by entering into an anxiety-filled state of being. Alex began to realize that he was constantly repeating those horror stories his father had passed down to him  about the Holocaust, and they were having a debilitating effect on his very being.

Building on his accumulated knowledge of martial arts and behavior patterns of the body and mind, he began to communicate with his body, instead of listening to the stories from the past being constantly generated by his mind;and managed to rid himself of his chronic nightmares and anxiety through mind/body interaction!

With time, Alex began to specialize in behavior patterns, body forms, arts of movement body language, the power of music upon our neural networks and the effects they have upon our body systems. It was then that he decided that he could share what he had learned with others who suffered from chronic disorders.

Clients came to him with behavior problems and unclear chronic diseases for which MDs had no answers. Alex built a methodic program in physical  behavior patterns in which the clients learned about body language, mind language and body mind interraction while acquiring techniques to deal with their chronic problems. Alex became skilled in various forms of physical therapy for pain, movement, posture, respiratory, and attention disorders. His specialty is working with Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients, who, in actuality, suffer from a combination of the above neuropathological disorders.

Based on his knowledge in these fields, he developed the Gyro-Kinetic method, which is founded on the concept of movement, music, and rhythm — creating motion in the body, which stimulates simultaneous physiological, biological, and psychological reactions. Instead of listening to their minds, I Alex teaches clients how to listen to their bodies and communicate between the two. Our minds are constantly dredging up stories and scripts from our past that dictate how we should behave, and we’ve stopped listening to our bodies. This simple but incredibly powerful concept is the key to my method and it has consistently proved its potential upon the symptoms we call “Parkinson’s” and other neurological conditions. He believes that what he teaches  in the fields of the physiology of behavior, martial arts, and the art of movement has a valuable lesson for everyone — especially for people diagnosed with early-stage Parkinson’s.

Dr Patrick Vicker Discusses the Gerson Therapy

Sunday, December 4th, 2016

drpvickers

Dr. Patrick Vickers is the Director and Founder of the Northern Baja Gerson Clinic (Gerson Therapy). His mission is to provide patients with the highest quality and standard of care available in the world today for the treatment of advanced (and non-advanced) degenerative disease. His dedication and commitment to the development of advanced protocols has led to the realization of exponentially greater results in healing disease. Dr. Vickers, along with his highly trained staff, provides patients with the education, support, and resources to achieve optimal health.

Dr. Patrick was born and raised outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At the age of 11 years old, after witnessing a miraculous recovery from a chiropractic adjustment, Dr. Patrick’s passion for natural medicine was born.

Dr. Patrick obtained his undergraduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Life University before going on to receive his doctorate in Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College in 1997.

While a student at New York Chiropractic College(NYCC), Dr. Patrick befriended Charlotte Gerson, the last living daughter of Dr. Max Gerson, M.D. who Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Dr. Albert Schweitzer called, ” One of the most eminent geniuses in medical history. “

Dr. Gerson, murdered in 1959, remains the most censured doctor in the history of medicine as he was reversing virtually every degenerative disease known to man, including TERMINAL cancer.

Upon graduating from NYCC in 1997, Dr. Patrick went on to study the Gerson Therapy directly under Charlotte Gerson at her home in San Diego, California. While living with Charlotte, Dr. Patrick spent several months going through Dr. Gerson’s handwritten files of all his active patients from 1910-1959; files that Charlotte has kept in her home to this day. Included in those files were hundreds of handwritten letters from Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Dr. Albert Schweitzer, to Dr. Max Gerson. Schweitzer and Gerson were best friends after Gerson cured Schweitzer’s wife, Helena, of terminal tuberculosis when she had just 3 months to live.

Gerson also cured Schweitzer, himself, of severely advanced diabetes, in SIX weeks, eight years before Schweitzer won the Nobel Prize.

After several months of studying Dr. Gerson’s files, and several more months interning at the Gerson Clinic, Dr. Patrick opened chiropractic and Gerson clinics in Peru, Guatemala and Mexico before returning to the United States, in 2008, to open up this non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public on the Gerson Therapy.

Since that time, Dr. Patrick has been traveling around the world lecturing at international embassies, Latin American medical schools and other miscellaneous venues. More information at: http://www.gersontreatment.com/
