Dr Timothy Birdsall, a naturopathic physician and Vice President of the Cancer Treatment Center of America is my second guest on Saturday. After receiving his doctorate at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington he taught there for 5 years. In 2008, he was appointed to serve four years on the National Advisory Council for Complementary and Alternative Medicine for the National Institutes of Health. He also served as Speaker of the House of Delegates and Vice President of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and is currently President of the Oncology Academy of Naturopathic Physicians. Dr Persall was Founding Editor in Chief of the Alternative Medicine Review and co-author of How to Prevent and Treat Cancer with Natural Medicine. Currently he serves as the Editorial Consultants Board for the Journal Integrative Cancer Therapies.
My last guest is Mrs Kelly Swobode, a 31 year cancer survivor who used alternative treatments. Previously she was a social worker for nursing but currently stays home to care for her husband and mother. She has been married 32 years and has 2 children, 4 grand children, and one great grand child.
