Smoking Cannabis may Promote Cancer Growth

A new study published in the European Journal of Immunology
concluded that smoking cannabis suppresses the immune system and increases ones risk of cancer. Most immune cells protect individuals by fighting infections and cancer cells. However, a recently discovered immune cell called myeloid-derived supressor cells, MDSCs, that are found in increased numbers in cancer patients may suppress the immune system against cancer treatment and promote cancer cell growth.
