Dr Linda Isaacs Continues the Cancer Treatments She Used with Dr Nicholas Gonzalez.

Sunday, August 26th, 2018

Dr Linda Isaacs

Linda L. Isaacs, M.D., received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky, graduating with High Distinction with a major in biochemistry. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She subsequently received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1985. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center at New York University Medical School. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, most recently completing recertification in 2011.

Dr. Isaacs worked with her colleague Nicholas J. Gonzalez, M.D., for more than twenty years, using a nutritional approach for treating patients diagnosed with cancer and other serious degenerative illnesses. After his untimely death in July 2015, she has continued with the work they shared. The treatment involves diet, which varies from patient to patient and can range from almost exclusively vegetarian to one that is heavy in animal protein and fat; individualized nutritional supplement protocols, which include large doses of pancreatic enzymes; and procedures such as coffee enemas that help the body rid itself of metabolic wastes.

In 1999, Dr. Isaacs and Dr. Gonzalez completed a research study in patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer: the results were published in the peer-reviewed journal Nutrition and Cancer, showing survival well beyond what is described in the medical literature. They also published a series of case reports in the peer-reviewed journal Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine, and co-authored the book The Trophoblast and the Origins of Cancer. Dr. Isaacs wrote the article “Deciding to Pursue an Alternative Cancer Therapy” to help prospective patients sort through their options; it is available on her website at https://www.drlindai.com/pursuing_alt_ther.html.

Visit her website at DrLindaI.com to learn more about her treatment and review the application process to become a patient.

Cannabis Extract Expert, Mara Gordon, Speaks on the Holistic Health Show

Sunday, July 16th, 2017

Mara Gordon, founder, Chief Process Engineer, specializes in the development of cannabis extract treatment protocols for seriously ill patients in California. She is the co-founder of Aunt Zelda’s, Calla Spring Wellness, and Zelda Therapeutics.

Prior to Aunt Zelda’s, Mara worked as a process engineer, helping Fortune 500 companies create intelligent software by utilizing the Rational Unified Process. This experience has enabled her to take a detailed and scientific approach to medical cannabis.

Recognizing a need for patient-focused software, Gordon created CDRMed, an EMR specially developed for the healthcare community. With CDRMed, physicians and medical health professionals are able to make treatment recommendations based on the latest and highest-quality data. This takes the guesswork out of selecting the correct medicines at the dispensary.

Gordon sits on the boards of Zelda Therapeutics, Daya Foundation, International Cannabis Standards Board (ICSB), and Hmbldt. She has presented at multiple CME-accredited medical conferences, including Patients Out of Time 2014, and at POT 2016, delivered a 3.5 hour course along with Drs Cristina Sanchez, Manuel Guzman, and Joe D. Goldstrich. Gordon has spoken at medical cannabis conferences in Australia, Costa Rica, Chile, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Israel, as well as numerous events throughout the USA and worldwide. These include CannMed held at Harvard Medical School in April 2016, and Medical Marijuana for Professionals 2014 and 2016. Her work is featured in the upcoming documentaries, “Weed the People”, “Mary Janes: Women of Weed”, and in Joe Dolce’s book, “Brave New Weed”.More information at: https://www.medicaljane.com/directory/professional/mara-gordon/

Liquid Biopsy/ Evaluating Cancer Treatment

Wednesday, July 5th, 2017

Liquid Biopsy, a blood test that detects circulating DNA tumor DNA, may not only sound an early alert that a treatment effect is diminishing but may also may offer clues about what to do next according to a new study published   Researchers say “We have shown that integrating regular liquid biopsy into our patient routine care is feasible and easily incorporated into clinical practice.” ” This technology can precisely help us understand each patient’s individual disease course and allows us to tailor care based on an understanding of their significant disease biology.”

In the study 40 patients with various forms of gastro-intestinal (GI) cancers who had previously responded to treatment that stopped were included. Liquid biopsies were done when their disease began to progress and circulating tumor DNA in the blood was analyzed for genetic mutation that might be making patients resistant to treatment. Thirty one of the 40 patients had at least one mutation, and 14 had more than 1 mutation. It was interesting that about two thirds of patients  had traditional biopsies taken at the same time and the liquid biopsy picked up extra mutations that could not be seen in the tissue biopsy. Researchers said “Identifying what specific mutations are responsible for treatment resistance is very important in helping clinicians choosing what treatment path  a patient should try next, whether it be another drug or prehaps radiation.”

Although liquid biopsies are not widely used outside the research setting, the researchers believe they are about to transform cancer treatment. The researchers say “We have shown this approach to be feasible across different GI cancers.” “Thew next step is to study how best to use this technology in daily practice.”

NB>I came across liquid biopsies a couple months ago while working on content for my cancer website .  I will have the test information on the site within the next month  as it is used to detect cancer and can do so before many other tests. However, the major problem now is that the cost can be up to $4,500.
