For the show this week, a Facebook friend, Ken Goubeaux, and I will talk about what we have learned since having Facebook pages and also having cancer either personally (me) or in our families (both of us) and what is needed to successfully overcome cancer. Ken sent the following as background.

“My story started back in October 1991 when my father was first diagnosed with bladder cancer and had it scoped and they took out a tumor which they told him at the time they had to leave just a stem, because they didn’t want to cut into the bladder wall for obvious reason. After this surgery they gave him radium treatments which always made him feel bloated. So long story short he never really felt it necessary to change his life style or diet. But was fortunate to survive cancer two more time and the third being a tumor up by the breast bone which they decided to fry it with radiation. Then it was only a year later it came back. I remember to this day the day being February 24 2005 My mom and sister took him to Ohio State and found out it was terminal. They told him a year it was Leiomyosarcoma; rare type only 4 in a million get this type. So it was nearly the end of the dx when I went to the Shrine in Carey Ohio. When I myself was going through severe depression and went there to pray for a peace of mind. Because it seemed about every time I was about dig my self out of the dark hole I fell deeper back into it. So on the way from mass that day I was handed a vision for my blog. Which I thought how brilliant but at the time I didn’t know how to type let alone computers or the internet but it didn’t stop me. And boy after that date I learned that when the student is ready the teachers would appear. From Mant Prowg in Kettering at half price books. That Chinamen owning a business that came here and went through his own form of culture shock because of the American Diet provided me the basis for Solitarius.org.” In addition to his Facebook page Solitarius.org, Ken also manages Cannabis Saves People and Rosa’s Corner. He is from Ohio and graduated from Northwestern College in Lima. More information is available at: www.facebook.com/ken.goubeaux

Dr Linda Isaacs
Linda L. Isaacs, M.D., received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky, graduating with High Distinction with a major in biochemistry. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She subsequently received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1985. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center at New York University Medical School. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, most recently completing recertification in 2011.
Dr. Isaacs worked with her colleague Nicholas J. Gonzalez, M.D., for more than twenty years, using a nutritional approach for treating patients diagnosed with cancer and other serious degenerative illnesses. After his untimely death in July 2015, she has continued with the work they shared. The treatment involves diet, which varies from patient to patient and can range from almost exclusively vegetarian to one that is heavy in animal protein and fat; individualized nutritional supplement protocols, which include large doses of pancreatic enzymes; and procedures such as coffee enemas that help the body rid itself of metabolic wastes.
In 1999, Dr. Isaacs and Dr. Gonzalez completed a research study in patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer: the results were published in the peer-reviewed journal Nutrition and Cancer, showing survival well beyond what is described in the medical literature. They also published a series of case reports in the peer-reviewed journal Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine, and co-authored the book The Trophoblast and the Origins of Cancer. Dr. Isaacs wrote the article “Deciding to Pursue an Alternative Cancer Therapy” to help prospective patients sort through their options; it is available on her website at https://www.drlindai.com/pursuing_alt_ther.html.
Visit her website at DrLindaI.com to learn more about her treatment and review the application process to become a patient.

My first guests, Tara and Steve Mann, are Co-Founders, CEO and President of Cancer Crackdown. (This is a continuation of an interview started last show). Cancer Crackdown is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization, their passion is to help fighters take their battle with cancer to the next level. They are unique in that they fight alongside those battling this disease. They develop plans and help fighters and survivors to be successful in following them to reach their overall health goals. They offer a wide range of resources and encouragement for those fighting, those surviving and those that wish to prevent this disease. We all have a choice in this battle against cancer, to survive or to prevent!!
Their mission is to be the trusted source of knowledge regarding natural therapies to defeat cancer and remain cancer free. We partner with fighters and survivors by supporting and navigating them through their battle. Together, they develop a unique plan that is specific to each individual and instills in them a fearless approach to winning the battle.
Cancer Crackdown started as a small group on Facebook in January 2012 with a few people who wanted to share some information on tips and best practices during chemo. Cancer Crackdown has grown and we are now serving cancer fighters all over the world!!
Cancer fighters that can no longer take chemo or choose not to are in dire need of accurate information and guidance. Due to the vast amount of information available and many untrustworthy sources on the internet, it makes it difficult for us to make decisions about what is viable information and thus dissuades many from knowing what is worth trying. We have and will continue to research topics of interest and ensure credibility of sources. We help put patients in contact with proper practitioners in their area and locate services for them that may benefit their treatment. We are in the process of building on the services we are able to provide to cancer patients that we are so fortunate to partner with during their difficult time. More information available at: http://www.cancercrackdown.org
My second guest is Bernice Yoder, a 9 year pancreatic cancer survivor. Berenice says: I will be a nine year pancreatic cancer survivor this coming November. When I found out I had cancer, I had no idea what pancreatic cancer was. It had never touched my immediate or extended family. It was something you heard of or read about, not something that happened to you.
This illness changed my life. It gave me more will to live, to be able to finish raising my then 13-year-old daughter who had just lost her dad 15 months before. It taught me to fight, and to never give up. There is always hope even through the pain and grief and anger that is part of this terrible illness. I am proud to say I am a survivor of one of the deadliest cancers
