My first guest is Seth-Deborah Roth. Combining over 40 years of experience in the medical field with years of hypnosis expertise is what makes Seth-Deborah stand out among the crowd. Years of being a Registered Nurse, then furthering her training to become a Nurse Anesthetist and then becoming a Certified Instructor of Hypnosis allows a very deep breath of understanding of the mind/body connection. She teaches a course for Medical Hypnosis where she not only teaches about the very real physiology of this connection in a way that ordinary people can understand but also, how, we can use our minds to connect within.

Seth-Deborah is a fellow with the National Board of Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists and has presented to the National Guild of Hypnosis, the International Medical and Dental Hypnosis Association, the International Hypnosis Federation, the American Board of Hypnotherapy, the Institute for the Advanced Studies of Health World Conference, the Dermatology Nurses Association and the 14th annual UCSF Integrative Health Medicine Forum as well as to a UCSF elective class for students within the medical department. She recently returned from presenting at the APHP (Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy) in London. She lectures in the hospital setting regarding medical hypnosis including St. Rose Hospital in Hayward,CA, Seton Hospital in Daly City, CA , the Bay Area Cancer Forum at Summit Sutter Health Hospital in Oakland,CA and Kaiser Hospital offices in Alameda, CA.

In 2007, Seth-Deborah appeared on the Discovery Channel’s “MythBusters” season 5 episode 7 segment on hypnosis.

Seth-Deborah was inducted into the “Order of Braid” with the National Guild of Hypnotists in 2011. The Order of Braid Council is the centerpiece of the NGH Awards System and recognizes a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication, and service. She was also included in the 2012 top 100 Nurse Practitioner Round-Up. In 2013, she received on the the highest awards within the National Guild of Hypnotists the “Charles Tebbetts Award”- Spreading the Light of Hypnotism

The mind and body cannot be separated. It is a bidirectional system and Seth-Deborah knows how to help you to help yourself connect and thrive. More information is available at: http://www.HypnotherapyforHealth.com

My second guest, Dr Curtis Kuhn, is a  motivational, comical and inspirational…. sharing his personal experience of overcoming liver cancer, diabetes, polycythemia, lymes disease and related metabolic disorders using metabolic nutritional therapy. After being partially diagnosed and mis-diagnosed over a ten year period, as well as attending three universities, preparing medical school……he finally discovered Metabolic Therapy in 1985.
Over the next 4 years, he overcame his medical problems, actually GAINED 50 pounds of bone and muscle, an inch in height and dedicated his life to this science. But this was just the beginning of his journey. He moved to Las Vegas, became a Private Investigator and pursued his lifelong ambition as a professional singer.

He has written 3 books, the first…….”Metabolic Metamorphosis,” which tells of his experience during the first 4 years on metabolic therapy. “Metaolic Mission” is his second book  which shares his journey to Las Vegas, the highlights of his singing career as the only Vince Gill Impersonator in Las Vegas and the tough times he experienced in that wonderful but incredibly decadent city.

His 3rd book is also “Metabolic Mission,” in its second edition, which details the last decade of his life. This book has also been transformed into a screenplay…..for a major motion picture, written by a member of the Screenwriters Guild of Hollywood, California.
In 1991, the Governor of Kansas gave Curtis the “I Believe I Can Achieve” award for overcoming Liver Cancer. In gratitude, he wrote, arranged and performed the gospel song “Join Hands” for her anti-Drug campaign. The Paradise Baptist Choir that also sings on this record, is Barry Sanders’ Mother and 5 sisters, from Wichita, Kansas. Barry played for the Detroit Lions and was the Heisman trophy winner in 1988. The music video for this performance is also posted here on his website. .
Curtis began touring on the National talk show circuit in 1989, had my own Radio show “The Metabolic Forum” in Las Vegas in 2009 and planned starting another International talk show tour in late 2013. He  consults with clients across America and globally. More information is available at: .http://www.themetabolicinstitute.com/

Karen Hummel is a wellness coach whose passion is helping others with pain. She holds a masters degree in Health Service Management and a baccalaureate degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology. Karen is a Certified Personal Trainer with eighteen years of training experience and has served as a Wellness Director for several large corporations.

In 1998, after years of perseverance to reach her own fitness goal she was seriously injured in an automobile accident and told prior to surgery that she would almost certainly be a paraplegic. Karen refused to believe this and after three surgeries her surgeon told her that had it not been for the muscles she had developed from years of exercise she would not have walked away.
Several years later after excruciating pain, doctor’s visits, and medical tests, a piece of hardware from her original surgery was found to be piercing the spinal canal. This had caused tremendous nerve pain throughout her spine and eventually the loss of feeling in her right leg. Another surgery was scheduled but the chronic pain continued. One year later, testing found that a second device in her back had broken and the area had not healed properly., Karen had her last back surgery to correct the problem in 2006.
Karen has made tremendous improvements since her last surgery and is happy to be back at the gym, but still lives with chronic pain daily. She is in the process of writing a book about her experiences and hopes it will be an inspiration to others battling pain. More information is available at: http://www.karenhummel.com
